One North Terrace
Located on the foreshore with stunning views of the Bass Strait, Burnie's new hotel is finally in action. We had the privilege of working alongside ARTAS Architects and Fairbrother on this project where our scope of works covered the full glazing package: windows, doors, showerscreens, mirrors and balustrades.
Fixed Windows - 651 Series
The GJames 651 Series was purposely designed with width versatility for highrise buildings and commercial applications, making it the ideal product for this project. In addition to the slim, elegant frames highlighting the bed and artwork shown here, we also used the 651 Series for the extra wide frames that cover the majority of the building's facade. With such a large portion of the hotel rooms facing the Burnie wharf, we needed to address the accoustic problems this could create. Enter hush laminated double glazing!
Sliding Doors - 445 Series
With the north-facing aspect, every room is exposed to sunlight throughout the day and has a spectatcular view out across the bay. For the rooms with balconies, we have used the 445 series sliding doors with disability access sills for a seamless transition from inside to out. With large pull handles and heavy duty rollers, these doors slide with ease ensuring an enjoyable stay for guests.
Automatic Sliding Doors
With a number of different options to choose from including frameless glass, and revolving, swinging or sliding doors, the auto door is the most appropriate application for access doors where customers are toing and froing with baggage, trolleys or carts. The space-saving sliding door was the best option here due to the narrow width between the footpath and the road.
Windbreaks
The west-facing entrance cops a lot of weather, be it wind or rain. Installing a floor to ceiling windbreak provides shelter from the rain and protection for the autodoor against strong winds. While this windbreak could have been built from any material, choosing glass enables natural light to still flood the entry foyer. Adding etching is a great way to include a subtle brand reminder - bonus!
